Our annual Truffle Day Out is on 22 June 2024, right on winter solstice. 

Join Kings Truffles at 11am in the morning to dig truffles with the Lee family and their dogs Freddy and Scratch.   Coffee and cake is provided on arrival.  Then drive or bus 15 minutes north to our restaurant for a 5 course truffle inspired lunch cooked by Olly le Maitre, matched with aged Black Estate wines.  Lunch begins around 1230pm and is a true celebration of winter!

$375 for truffle hunt, five course lunch with paired aged wines and a return bus from Christchurch. (See bus timings below) Book here.

We will organise a bus for those who book it, leaving Merivale Mall at 10am, journeying to Kings Truffles in Waipara Gorge, then on to our Black Estate for lunch at 1230pm.  The bus leaves Black Estate around 4pm to return to the city.

Truffle season in winter

Our neighbours Kings Truffles dig truffles from mid June to the end of July.  Our lunch menu will include their fresh truffles to enjoy. Mellow and good with a glass of aged Black Estate wines. Book a table here.
